The best life summary ever told Part-2

So far in this amazing summary of Jesus life we've talked about His incarnation, His resurrection, His manifestation and His Gospel. Quite a life, isn't it? Now let's look at the last two:

5. His followers.

Not only did Jesus preach the Gospel Himself, but he trained others to preach it as well (Matthew 28:19-20). He was the top Fisherman who told us that, if we followed, He would make us fishers of men.

"...If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" Paul told us in Romans 10:9 and that qualify us as His followers. Also, before we even came to believe in Him, Jesus offered a prayer for us to His Father. Jesus said: “I do not ask for these only (His followers at the time), but also for those who will believe in me through their word (His future followers)" (John 17:20).
I think it's kind of amazing that Jesus took time to pray for all of us who will eventually come to Him. To know that the very Creator of the universe prayed for our salvation should be a great encouragement and a great reminder that He's always there for us.
We should be honored that in God's awesome sovereignty, we were part of His plan. If that doesn't enlighten your day, what would do it? If you're not a follower, come to Him and become one. He's waiting for you!

6. His Ascension.
"And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:9‭-‬11 ESV)

These verses from the book of Acts shows us that Jesus went up to heaven in bodily form and He's seated at right hand of the Father. One day we'll also be in heaven with Him with our transformed bodies enjoying every possible thing that heaven can offer.
The angels question makes me think a little bit. Why would they ask the disciples why they were standing looking into heaven? Is it possible that the disciples were feeling afraid that their Lord wasn't going to be with them any longer in bodily form? Is it possible that they were hopeless and had nowhere to go? It's possible. Otherwise, why would the angels offer the encouragement that Jesus  would come back the same way He went up? The angels must have perceived something that was deeply engraved in the disciples hearts for them to offer such a timely encouragement.
Are you afraid? Are you concerned that you're going to be left alone with no help in this world? Jesus went up to heaven but He made a promise that He was going to send someone like Him, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit would reside in every heart that would receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. The disciples were not going to be alone. They were going to have somebody inside of them that would guide them in the truth.
The ascension ended Jesus life on earth but He now lives in us through the Holy Spirit. Are you still looking up wondering what is going to happen? Please don't. Know that Jesus is right there with you guiding you every step of the way.
The apostle Paul gave us this life summary of Jesus not to confuse us but rather to encourage us. The encouragement is that Jesus walked a perfect life so you and I can have a new life.  The encouragement is that just as Jesus did, we can have our own life's summary.  We were born into this world to fulfill a God given purpose. Depending on the role that we are given within that purpose, we might attract followers that will eventually replicate what they have been taught. Finally, we will leave this world and leave a legacy that is worth continuing. Jesus left us the Gospel to be preached among all nations. After you leave this world, will you leave a mark of the goodness of God in your life? Will the world be able to see the fruits of your labor in His kingdom? Will they be able to clearly see the legacy that you have left? I pray to God that you'll be to accomplish all these things because we have a great God and a great Savior. The apostle Paul gave us an amazing summary of the life of Jesus. Let this world write an amazing summary of your life as well. Be blessed!
