Don't waste it!

   It has been said that "God doesn't waste your sufferings" meaning that you are suffering for a purpose of a very high caliber because it was designed by him for you! So don't waste your sufferings, take them as an opportunity instead.

   To all of you who are suffering with chronic diseases like me, don't lose hope because in reality, it can't be lost because your real hope  is Jesus.

Every morning, I have to make a decision. Am I to succumb to the heavy burden of my morning symptoms or am I going to take them as an opportunity? I decide the latter! Why? Because God has given me the strength and the vitality to do what I can while going through those symptoms. Can I do it all? No, but I can do some. It is my desire to do a full blown exercise routine, but that's not possible. Instead, I use very light weights to pump my heart as much as I can, I stretch my muscles, but most importantly, I take the opportunity to listen to the voice of God. As a matter of fact, this devotion is the result of one of those mornings. How can I not listen to the voice of God? Pay attention to what Psalm 29 says:

[3] The voice of the Lord is on the waters; The God of glory thunders, The Lord is over many waters. [4] The voice of the Lord is powerful, The voice of the Lord is majestic. [5] The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; Yes, the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon in pieces. [6] He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, And Sirion like a young wild ox. [7] The voice of the Lord divides flames of fire. [8] The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. [9] The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth And strips the forests bare; And in His temple everything says, “Glory!” [10] ¶The Lord sat as King at the flood; Yes, the Lord sits as King forever. [11] The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace." God doesn't waste your sufferings, you shouldn't either! Make a choice to do something better with that time for your own good and maybe, for others as well.

God is not in the business of weakening you, He's in the business of strengthening you. (Verse 11a). Let His mighty voice guide us through our turbulent times and let Him help us make our sufferings be an opportunity instead of being a time of complaint. He will bless you through it. (Verse 11b).

I pray that God today will give you an opportunity to do good  to others or to your own self during your difficult times.

The best life summary ever told Part-1

I remember when I was in high school  I was required to read several books during the school year. You were encouraged to read the whole book thoroughly, not only because you were going to be tested on it, but also because you were required to write a summary of it. So, if you decided to skim through the pages and not read the whole book, your summary wasn't going to be a very accurate one. The apostle Paul, in 1 Timothy 3:16, gives us an excellent summary of the life of Jesus and in my humble opinion, it's the best life summary ever told, a very accurate one. This is what Paul says in this majestic verse: "Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory". God is not done!

The other day I was listening to a pastor being interviewed on the radio and, at some point during the conversation, this pastor started repeating the phrase "God is not done!" as he told the story of Joseph, one of the twelve sons of Jacob. He pretty much interweaved this phrase with the critical parts of Joseph's life. Let me retell that story in my own personal words. Joseph was Jacob's favorite son and he was a dreamer and not about regular dreams like you and I have.
